My daughter has been having a difficult time concentrating enough to complete her reading assignments she was always getting distracted. She also still sucks her thumb at age 8 1/2 and we have tried all different ways to keep her from this habit. I work with children with Autism, and as I am sure you know from other testimonials, it is difficult at times to motivate them to learn. While working with one child who had a particularly difficult time finding any reinforcement in anything, I tried some pieces of a Tangle toy that I got at a McDonalds. The child was hooked. I thought, “Finally something that this child likes!” However, what I found next was even more impressive. As I looked back on the data that I had, I noticed that there was a steady increase in skill acquisition starting the same week I started using the Tangles. I began using some with other children who had various issues (not as a treatment but as a reward). Many of them immediately took to them and I noticed a dramatic improvement in the children’s behavior over time. They were calmer and better able to deal with stressors that usually sent them “over the edge”. I have since been looking everywhere I could to get more Tangles of various sizes, colors, textures and shapes. I soon found that the older and more advanced kids also loved them and were highly motivated by them. I am an elementary and special education major and have learned the impact they can have on students. In the special education field it is beneficial to have for ADHD/ADD students for something they can use in their hands and it helps them focus. On Halloween night, I was playing with one of your Aloha Tangles as trick or treaters came to my door. I noticed that as the children selected their treats, they were eyeing the Tangle hanging off my wrist. I offered them a chance to take turns trying out the Tangle. It was clear that the kids liked the toy. At one point a boy around eight or nine years of age took a second glance at the selection of candy treats I presented, then at the Tangle on my wrist, and then asked, "Oh, are all the toys gone?" He'd heard about the Tangle from other trick or treaters and thought I was giving them out as treats.

I am an occupational therapist working for two school districts. I travel between school and provide services each day to students with special needs. While my students have varying disabilities, many have difficulty with attention to task and need help staying focused. Others have poor motor coordination and muscle strength and this impacts their ability to complete written work. Each week, I bring a variety of therapeutic tools to each school to assist my students in learning to function to the best of their ability. I have found Tangle products to be very useful and I always keep them in my travel bag each week. I offer small Tangle toys to students to use as fidgets to improve their auditory and visual attention. I am a School Social Worker in Southfield Michigan. I use tangles everyday with my students to help them focus on daily tasks, calm down when the pressure is on and sometimes just to have fun. I also use my collection of tangles to help ease the stress of my fellow colleagues. I started the school year, two weeks ago, with a dozen tangles and I am now down to only a few. It is a daily occurrence to have teachers and administrators show up at my office looking for the little bundles of joy. My goal is to put a tangle in the hands and hearts of all my co-workers to help de-stress and remind them that toys are fun even for grownups. Thank You Tangle!!!!

I recently went through the most boring professional development course for my job. The trainer gave toys on our tables to keep our hands busy while our brains digested her material. The second of four days I found an odd mess of what looked like macaroni on our table. This turned out to be a Tangle toy which, from that point forward, I could not put down. I made all kinds of shapes, some of which I even traced into my second year training course booklet and colored. Had it not been for the Tangle toy, I may very well have gone insane from the mind-numbing experience that was my in-service training!

My son was recently hospitalized for a month. During his stay we were given a tangle with textures to play with during his stay. My son has Shaken Baby Syndrome and has severe limitations. The tangle toy was great for him. His vision is limited so the textures provided great input. He has difficulty holding objects so the size/width of the toy allowed him to be able to hold it for short periods of time—something we cannot do with many toys. Moving the tangle around provided some range of motion for him. The possibilities with this toy just seemed endless. I was sad to have to leave it behind once his hospital stay was done. Amy E. I have just finished teaching 8th grade in the summer program in Chicago Public Schools, and Tangle Toys have saved me a major headache on more than one occasion. It all started when I noticed that my highest-achieving student had a habit of throwing things on the floor just so he could get up and move around to pick them up. As summer school wore on, he started drumming on things, habitually sharpening his pencil, shouting out in class, singing, and drawing all over his desk. Go figure--one day I placed a Tangle Toy on his desk, and he was completely pacified. Hi. I'm a first year student at college in the UK. I first came into contact with your product a few months ago while on a visit to Florida. I was drawn to Tangles vivid colour and strange shape. I added it to my basket and proceeded to the checkout. It was to be the best few dollars I spent on my entire vacation. Being a student I find it very hard to concentrate in lectures and the Tangle helps me with this, and thus helps me retain more information. Recently I sat a few exams which I was very worried about, so I decided to take the Tangle into the examination room with me. The first Tangle I ever saw was in a free box at a garage sale. A small unassuming but colorful little interesting item. I picked it up and felt something wonderful. It reminded me of when I was a child and had pop beads. They were beads that you could take apart and put back together and spend hours and hours making different color combinations and wear them. I immediately took the Tangle home, washed it, and gave it to my 28 year old son who has a progressive degenerative neurological disease. He is in a wheelchair, non-verbal, and has limited movement with his hands. He grabbed the Tangle between his fingers and proceeded to manipulate it for hours at a time. It is his only toy.

I always had the wish to quit smoking cigarettes. My obstacle was to wonder about the abstinence. Well one day a client coming back from NY brought me a gift. A chrome Tangle. Little by little I was tangling myself with my toy and I quit. No more cigarettes but always Tangle. I take my Tangle everywhere and people ask me what is for. My answer is the same because it is what I feel: it is for maintaining myself to be healthier and above all, HAPPY. When people I know are going to NY, I say: Go and get a Tangle. During my freshman year of college, I came across Tangle Jr. in the toy department of a large retail shop. Without a second thought I immediately grabbed it from the shelf, put it with my other purchases, and proceeded to the cashier. As I left the store, I couldn't wait to rip open the tiny plastic box and unravel the marvelous simplicity it held. I didn't realize my life would be forever changed.
Four years later, Tangle is still a regular part of my life. In my apartment, we have no television-- just a couch, some chairs, and Tangles. After introducing my friends to it, I began receiving Tangles as gifts-- I have four now. One (my favorite) hangs on the rearview mirror of my car for those gridlock days; there's one on the kitchen table, one on the coffee table, and one on the mantle. When my friends visit, they ask for a Tangle.
In the stressful world of Academia, Tangling ("Tangle" is both a noun and a verb) is my source of sanity. Although Tangle offers infinite fluid motion, I tend to sculpt it into its packaged form (you know, the big coil with one loop sticking out) and then unwind it-- over and over again... like a stress ball but so much more interesting.

I am writing with a long over due letter of success. My second grade inner city students use their brain tools (Tangle Toys) as anti-fidget manipulatives. This has been a great help for my students who have a hard time sitting still or maintaining focus.
Our school Psychologist is now using these as a way to engage students in conversation. She relayed to me today that she LOVES the brain tools and is so happy that I shared this with her.

Hey there, my first exposure with your tangle came on the occasional classes in the corporate training department. there were assorted items scattered on the tables to keep hands busy and if you weren't the lucky 2 to grab the tangles you were stuck with what was left.
some years go by.....my second exposure was a few weeks ago in my therapists office(yeah, I was JUST A TAD excited to see it again!!!!) and only after my session did I realize how I couldn't put it down...really convenient because you can tangle with one hand and talk with the other one. I finally bought one of my own...I won't say where because now they're mine...all mine!!!! The supply is short so I would like to know where else I could find more, especially that tangle ball, that looks really cool. One thing I really like is the one-handed-ness about the jr. that I like/have is that if someone actually expects me to use both hands for something then I can let it fall to a bracelet style or wrap it around my fingers (brass-knuckle style). Another reason is I didn't realize that excessive snacking was because I needed something to do with my hands while exercising my right to be a couch potato.
This year for Christmas my 18 year old nephew will be getting his own, why, you ask??? because last year I gave him a Christmas-ornament sized etch-a sketch and he flipped over it. I was introduced to the Tangle on the job by a co worker about two years ago and immediately wanted one of my own. Once I got one and played with it for a while I was amazed at how much fun they are. My favorite thing about the Tangle Jr is trying to make the nearly unlimited shapes that it can be twisted into. I've named every shape I came up with from 'light bulb filiment' to 'snail' to 'stingray'. I work in customer service, on the phone, for a large corporation and the job can be very stressful. The tangle really helps relieve that stress and I usually have it in my hand as I help a frustrated customer with a solution to their issue. I believe that the Tangle keeps me calm and, by extension, it also has the same effect on the person I am speaking to. AS I WAS SITTING IN THE DENTIST CHAIR I PLACED A TANGLE JUNIOR ON THE "DENTAL TRAY" & TOLD THE DENTIST THIS WOULD BRING ME GOOD ENERGY FOR THE PROCEEDURE! I ALSO SHOWED HIM THE "THERAPY TANGLE" & TOLD HIM IT WAS A STRESS RELIEVER & IT WOULD HELP ME GET THRU THE HOUR LONG ROOT CANAL.

Hello!
I am a paraprofessional with special education with the Fairfield Suisun Unified School District in Fairfield, California. I discovered Tangles about 3 years ago and have been using them ever since. I primarily work with autistic children, but while mainstreaming them I will also work with regular education children.
Being a paraprofessional, I do not have a lot of money to spend each year. I give my Tangles away to other teachers as the need arises to help out some of their children. In my school alone, there are now 5 other teachers who use tangles on a daily basis. The word is out. The kids work hard to earn Tangle and this has tremendously improved behaviors with some children. It also helps me with my class when there are fire drills and assemblies. We use them with our 7 kids during circle time.

Three years ago, I received my first Tangle as a stocking stuffer from my parents. I was about to spend 6 months abroad, and had an 8 hour flight, each way. I tend to be a bit antsy, so my mom thought the Tangle would be the perfect distraction. It definitely was just what I needed. The next year, I thought I'd spread the Tangle love, and I purchased one for each of my friends, all college students, dealing with immense stress with exams, etc. They felt the same way I did about it, how fascinating it is that such a little thing, can clear your mind so quickly. Right now, I'm currently in my first job out of college, working in a law firm in New York City. I still have my very first Tangle sitting here on my desk. I am 24 years old and have smoked cigarettes since I was 14. I have tried to quit before but with no success. I loved to smoke in the car, and while waiting for friends or when talking on the phone. I quit 16 days ago, and it went well at first with NO cheating, but then I felt my cravings intensify. I was thinking about smoking all the time. A friend suggested getting small toys to carry around with me so we went to the toy store Saturday (5 days ago). I found your mini Tangles on the shelf and bought 3 of them (one for my purse, one for the car, one for my desk at work). I started playing with one of them and went to meet friends at dinner. Wouldn't you know it? I put it down so I could eat my meal, a friend picked it up, and I never got it back! Guess it is not just me who cannot put it down. I haven¡¯t cheated on my smoking since I met your product. It is too hard to Tangle AND smoke at the same time while driving! Now the problem is... how do I keep my friends from stealing my Tangles from me? Also is it strange that now I feel a need to buy a few extra ones in case one of the old smoking buddies forgets that I quit and asks if they can bum a smoke? My daughter told me about your Tangle Toys recently and at first I thought that she was just being silly playing with toys and being a grown woman. But then she actually gave me a Tangle, Jr. and after playing with it, I discovered that if playing with toys such as yours is silly, then I must be the silliest one of all! I love it! I was in the checkout line of a major discount retailer the other night with my husband, and sitting on the shelf beside me was the neatest little toy I'd ever seen. I picked it up and read "Tangle, Jr." on the small, triangular package. The way it was rolled up neatly with one loop sticking out intrigued me as to how this thing really worked once it was opened. My husband, knowing how much of a big kid I am, reluctantly purchased it for me and that's where my fun began. It's like a hard but liquidly (if that makes sense) sculpturing tool. I play with it while I watch TV and while I sit in front of my computer. I love to tangle it into different shapes and sit it on my monitor like a mini sculpture. It never stays there long though, because I can't keep my hands off of it. I can't tell you how much fun I've had with it. I wanted to you to know that I have become an unofficial spokes person. A friend of ours helped us get a bunch for our reception. which we gave to everyone and everyone thought they were great. I directed them all to your web site. We had so many extras that we started giving them out to different people we thought really needed it. We are foster parents and all our kids have one. I was recently introduced to your Tangle Toy product at a national science conference. I must say, the toy is right in- line with the biology concept of protein-folding. I presently conduct research at St Jude Childrens Research Hospital. In addition, I also present the reasons for genetic-related illnesses to laymen audiences. I am amazed! I have been teaching seven years. I have never found a more positive approach to helping ADHD diagnosed children learn than when I experimented with a Tangle Toy. Wow! Hello Mr. Zawitz, I had my presentation yesterday (it was postponed because of testing, and I was the last person to present.) March 19th shall forever be known as the day of perpetual Tangling. The presentation went really well. The first 7 minutes was on artistic expression, and my interpretation of modern art, and the second half was all you. I went over all three of your pieces that I analyzed, and also told what I learned about you from your interview and from your website. I was able to keep the Tangles a secret until finally gave them away at the last minute of my presentation. Everyone was impressed. I'm a classic overachiever, but giving away Tangles was still unexpected. My presentation was the only one that Mr. Barnes didn't sigh during. I got 125%, which I must thank you for. After my presentation, Mr. Barnes congratulated me, and even offered to argue with me about art (it's thought of as an honor to argue with Mr. Barnes, and apparently he saw me as a worthy opponent.) Mr. Bames gave us the remaining 20 minutes of class to Tangle (those words actually came out of his mouth.) A kid I don't normally talk to told me to tell you that you are great, and he thanked you. I gave Mr. Barnes' aid a Tangle, and at the end of the day, he could not stop thanking me, saying that for 2 hours straight he couldn't put it down. He said it's his new favorite thing. This other kid, who is gothic (or something), who doesn't talk to anyone, and is never caught smiling, actually enjoyed Tangling. The response that resulted from Tangle was amazing. All of these people who I don't talk to, and who don't particularly like me, were coming up with a ton of uses with Tangle, and telling me to pass their messages on to you. Most of them were the same; you know "I love this thing!" "Wow, this is great" "Tell him thanks." Everywhere I looked everywhere I went, somebody was Tangling. I had meant to take pictures so that I could show you, but I forgot to bring my camera to school (I was so angry that I forgot!) Still, you'll be getting the report text, and I'm going to get a picture of the report cover, and my poster. You have no idea how much you have affected Admiral King High School. What a great gadget you have developed! My daughter came home from her Girl Scout meeting enthralled with one. I am a math teacher at a state-ran correctional facility for teenage girls and have attended several brain-based learning seminars. The small Tangle Toys are a perfect item to have in the classroom while working on math concepts. My girlfriend's little boy, Michael (he is 6) found out a week ago today that he has leukemia. It makes my heart heavy. Anyway, I ended up going to the hospital with her because her husband had to stay home with the other five kids. We were neighbors for 10 years before we moved in Dec. They are a great family. Anyway, while the nurses were getting him situated, he seemed so confused. His Mom was in the hallway talking and his little face just looked lost for a time. I reached into my purse and pulled out one the key chains you had given to me and Leah and Anna...I told him he could keep it and Richard he smiled. He sat there and played and played with it. I was so glad I had it to give to him. That is why your toy is so wonderful. It just makes people smile. Here we were at Brenner Children's Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC and a little boy was happier in such a scary place because of a simple toy that you chose to share with the world. I recently purchased several Tangle items for my family. While browsing your web site to make my purchase I read "The Tangle Peace Plan" with much interest. I am a Girl Scout leader to almost 25 second and third grade little girls. I think Tangle would make an excellent teaching tool for my troop. We could use it to learn in may ways. For example: my girls could sign a pledge to Tangle when they are angry instead of arguing. This would also help them earn their "Working it out" Girl Scout patch. We could also use Tangle as a relaxation tool that they could use at school. Also, as stated in number 5 of your peace place "Better Brains and Thoughts Through Tangling! I got my Tangles in the mail and have been tangling ever since. I had gotten my students Tangles for the summer and to be honest they have been tangling all over school with them. Now our principal and office staff all tangle. Some of my fellow teachers are now tangling too. Thanks so much for all this Tangle fun. I also wanted to tell you about my 21 year old son, he has been having trouble sleeping at night and so I bought him 4 tangles and now 'he tangles up until bedtime and then sleeps like a baby. We, at the Presbyterian Home of the Moshannon Valley, have created a program called the Kaleidoscope Initiative. It symbolizes the great strides we have made toward making our long-term care facility into a social model instead of a medical model by making the resident the center of all. Through this, we have achieved a restraint free atmosphere for the entire 120-bed facility. This is free from physical and chemical restraints. We do have residents who suffer from bordem and mental health diagnoses. We are constantly looking for innovative ways to help satisfy residents needs even if it is the need to have their hands busy like they were used to for many years. I came across your website and saw your list of steps you'll take in the Peace Plan. I would like to see all long-term care facilities added to your list of contributions. I am requesting that you consider sending us a few samples of your Magic in Motion and we will be sure to advise you on the usefulness amongst our elderly. It truly appears to be therapy for all ages. We would like to try the textured Tangle, as well, since many our residents suffer from loss/deterioration of senses. I wish to tell you and your fans that the Tangles I have used over the last three or four years have given pleasure beyond anything you or I expected. When I first sold Tangles in the early '80s they were liked by customers. In the 21st Century, they have reached importance. I carry them with me to help mothers with kids in places where kids, being kids, could literally upset the apple carts. I find that in stores, in line or on planes, etc. a Tangle can act as a valve to drain off children's excess energy. That is why I always carry Tangle Jr's. in my pocket. Tangles of all styles have also gotten me through two Christmases. The Baby Tangle sees me through birth presents. I have personally used my original Tangle for over twenty years. I first gave away Tangles on mass (50) to a children's hospice in Tucson. I was told by the nurses for these children, that with the Tangles' introduction into the ward and rec. rooms, the life of the children and the way they approached it, became more relaxed. The Tangles, I believe, caused this change because they were the only new variable. The Tangles we sent to Iraq and to Afghanistan, to be handed out by members of an American Special Forces Division to the children of these areas were a great success and you and your company did a good thing. You know what and how you accomplished this, I was only the gatekeeper. Tangle Toys gets the credit and I get to tell the wond how you have changed the world for the better, for so many people. I am a grade 2 teacher in the Chicago Public School system. I was recently introduced to your products at a seminar at the Erickson Institute. Teachers are encouraged to use your products to engage brain stems while teacher is instructing. Children learn better when they are using all parts of the brain. Basically, giving children the option of picking up a Tangle Toy while they are listening to instruction increased their attention. Hi, I recently was fired from my job, and I'm having a really hard time finding another job. I was just about to lose confidence in myself. Yesterday, I found a small version of the Tangle Toy in a store, and thought it was an interesting little thing. Ever since then, I have been addicted to it! I've been so very calm and concentrated. It has given me more confidence and perseverance to find another job. My husband thinks it’s silly that I’m playing with it, but I don’t care! It's a fun toy, and it helps me in more ways than one!
